Yin Yoga is a style of yoga which targets the connective tissue, tendons and ligaments of the body through poses that are held for longer periods of time generally from two to five minutes. Different Yin yoga poses stimulate and remove blockages in the meridians in the body, which in turn balances the bodyβs internal organs and systems. In the Tao philosophy of Yin & Yang, Yin is feminine, ruled by the moon and is about experiencing receiving and sweet surrender. Itβs deeply meditative and will address cranky knees, hips and shoulders! Yin allows us time to sit with ourselves, to just be still, and to notice what the body and mind are telling us.
